Statement of Ethical Representation

The internet is a vast and seemingly infinite place. Inside of the cloud lives several iterations of you and these multiple identities stay alive as long as the cloud does. So it is paramount to understand the longevity of the words, sounds, images, and videos that we post online. In order to post responsibly and ethically one must:

• Use appropriate language, content, and design for the site/app/platform that the post is being published on. This includes profanities, drug use, and political affiliations. Your Facebook, email, Scholarly journal, and Reddit identities are all different and must be treated as such. 
• When posting about others use the "golden rule" -- treat others as you would like to be treated. This has some exceptions like if the person you are posting about is a public figure.
• Appropriately cited sources and asking for permission to use what belongs to others prevents plagiarism and theft.
